My general area of research is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations. More specifically my research encompasses developing efficient Higher Order Compact (HOC) schemes to numerically simulate incompressible viscous flows governed by the Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations. This includes the primitive variable, streamfunction-vorticity and the Biharmonic form of the N-S equations. I have been interested in Topological Fluid Dynamics and the numerical aspects of Mathematical Biology as well. Of late, I have started developing numerical schemes for the N-S equations using HOC-immersed interface methods that involve moving objects.
Currently I am teaching MA542: Compulsory Math course for the MSc in Mathe and Computing students.
